About Castine Rowing…

a pair of oar blades resting in the bow of an Annapolis wherry row boat

A passion for rowing in beauty

Our rows combine nature, exercise, safety, boating knowledge, and perhaps even a curious seal or two…

Quality Equipment

We commit to proper and regular maintenance of equipment.

Qualified Coxswains

Our coxswains are trained in navigation, radio communication, boating safety, and rowing technique.

Thinking Ahead

While Personal Floatation Devices aren’t required, each rower is issued a PFD for the row.

Options

Rowers can sign up for an existing row (established by coxswains) or assemble a crew and reserve a boat for a private row.

Unity

Each row strives for flow, rhythm, and synchronicity of the crew, leaving rowers feeling a sense of belonging and community.

Engaging Senses

Enjoy the smell of the sea, the sound of the blades in the water, the beauty of the Maine coast, and the feel of the crew’s swing.
